Instructions
1-Beat the softened butter and β cup granulated sugar until creamy in a mixing bowl.
2-Mix in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg until fully combined.
3-In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
4-Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until everything combines into a smooth dough.
5-Scoop the dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
6-Sprinkle the dough balls with 3 tablespoons granulated sugar and flatten them with the bottom of a glass.
7-Bake for 8-10 minutes, rotating the sheets halfway through, until the cookies are slightly underdone in the center. Let them cool completely on racks.
8-For the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and 3 tablespoons unsalted butter until smooth.
9-Beat in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Add milk 1 teaspoon at a time if needed to reach the right consistency.
10-Spread the frosting on the cooled cookies and top with your chopped or sliced fresh fruit.
