Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils and thickens, then let it cool slightly before stirring in 1 quart sliced fresh strawberries or the substitute. This step creates the fruity topping that gives Strawberry Heaven its signature taste.

2-Next, tear 1 angel food cake into 1-inch pieces and mix it with 2 cups of whipped topping. Press this mixture into a 9ร—13 inch glass pan to form the base layer, setting it aside for now.
