Instructions

1-Getting started with this Southern Cheeseburger Pie: Begin by preheating your oven to 425°F and pulling together all the ingredients, which helps everything go smoothly from start to finish. You’ll appreciate how quickly this dish comes together once you get the hang of it.

2-To make the pie crust: pulse 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour and ¼ teaspoon salt in a food processor until mixed. Add 10 tablespoons of cold unsalted butter and pulse again until it looks like coarse meal. In a small bowl, mix 1 large egg yolk with 2 tablespoons of cold water, then add it to the processor and pulse until the dough starts to clump but isn’t fully formed. Shape the dough into a ball on a floured surface, flatten it into a disc, wrap it up, and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

3-Roll out the dough to fit a 9-inch pie dish, press it in, trim and crimp the edges, then chill for another 30 minutes.
