๐Ÿฅฉ Savor a quick and delicious Pepper Steak Stir Fry with tender beef and vibrant peppers.
๐ŸŒถ๏ธ This recipe balances savory flavors and fresh vegetables for a nutritious and satisfying meal.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, divided

– 1 red bell pepper, cored, seeded, and cut into strips

– 1 green bell pepper, cored, seeded, and cut into strips

– 1 1/4 pounds (about 570 grams) flank steak, thinly sliced

– 2 teaspoons minced garlic

– 1 teaspoon minced ginger

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 1/4 cup soy sauce

– 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

– 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch

– sliced onions (to add with the peppers)

Instructions

1-Step 1: Start by heating 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat to get things going. Add the bell peppers and onions if you choose to use them, and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn just tender but still have a bit of bite. Once done, take them out and set them aside for later.

2-Step 2: Next, add the rest of the oil to the pan and turn the heat up high. Season your thinly sliced flank steak with salt and pepper, then cook it for 5-6 minutes until it gets a nice light brown color. After that, stir in the minced garlic and ginger, letting them cook for about 30 seconds to release their aroma.

3-Step 3: Now, bring back the peppers and onions to the pan with the steak so everything mixes together. In a small bowl, whisk the soy sauce, sugar, 1/4 cup water, and cornstarch until smooth, then pour this over your mix. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens up nicely, and you’re ready to serve.
