– 10 tablespoons (141g) unsalted butter, softened
– ΒΎ cup (170g) light brown sugar, packed
– 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
– 1 large egg
– 1β cups (165g) all-purpose flour
– 1 cup (80g) old-fashioned rolled oats
– Β½ teaspoon baking soda
– ΒΌ teaspoon salt
– β cup (approx. 190g) chocolate hazelnut spread
– Β½ cup (approx. 85g) semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1-Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C): Line an 8Γ8 inch baking pan with foil or parchment paper and spray with nonstick spray.
2-In a bowl, beat the softened butter and packed light brown sugar until combined. Beat in the pure vanilla extract and large egg.
3-Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour, old-fashioned rolled oats, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
4-Press slightly more than half of the dough mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Chill the remaining dough.
5-Bake the crust for 12 minutes. Remove from the oven.
6-Gently spread the chocolate hazelnut spread evenly over the warm baked crust. Sprinkle the semisweet chocolate chips evenly over the spread.
7-Take the chilled dough, press it into small flat pieces, and arrange these pieces over the chocolate layer, covering as much as possible.
8-Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 18-22 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
9-Cool the bars completely on a wire rack before cutting. Serving them slightly warm keeps the filling gooey while making neat slices easy.
