πŸ„ Enjoy a rich and creamy homemade mushroom sauce that elevates your dishes with deep, savory flavors.
🍽️ This easy-to-make sauce is perfect for enhancing steak, poultry, pasta, or vegetables, making your meals more satisfying and flavorful.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

250 grams sliced mushrooms (white button or cremini)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 minced garlic cloves

1/3 cup dry white wine or rosΓ©

1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

3/4 cup heavy or thickened cream

1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

1-First, heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook them until they’re golden brown, which takes about 5-7 minutes. This step brings out that yummy, earthy flavor you love.

2-Next, stir in the minced garlic along with the salt and pepper, and cook for around 1 minute until the garlic turns golden. Then, pour in the white wine to deglaze the pan, letting it cook until it’s mostly evaporated, about 3-4 minutes. This adds a nice depth to the sauce.

3-After that, add the broth, cream, and parmesan cheese, stirring everything together well. Reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer gently until the sauce thickens, roughly 5-7 minutes. Finally, mix in the fresh thyme leaves and tweak the seasoning if needed before taking it off the heat.
