  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

– 4 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen (600 g)

– 1/2 cup sugar (100 g)

– 1 teaspoon lemon zest (2 g)

– 6 tablespoons butter (85 g)

– 1 cup flour (120 g)

– 1 cup sugar (200 g)

– 2 teaspoons baking powder (8 g)

– 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5 g)

– 3/4 cup milk (180 ml)

– Cinnamon for sprinkling

Instructions

1-Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and prepare your baking dish.

2-Slice 6 tablespoons butter (85 g) into pieces and place in a 9ร—13 inch baking dish. Put it in the oven as it preheats to melt the butter, then remove carefully.

3-In a bowl, mix 4 cups blueberries (600 g), 1/2 cup sugar (100 g), and 1 teaspoon lemon zest (2 g).

4-In another bowl, combine 1 cup flour (120 g), 1 cup sugar (200 g), 2 teaspoons baking powder (8 g), and 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5 g). Stir in 3/4 cup milk (180 ml) just until mixed.

5-Pour the blueberry mixture over the melted butter in the dish. Drizzle the batter evenly on top and sprinkle with cinnamon.

6-Bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is lightly golden.

7-Serve warm, perhaps with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.

Notes

๐Ÿซ Fresh or frozen blueberries can be used; frozen berries do not need to be fully thawed, and extra juice creates a syrupy sauce.
๐Ÿงˆ Melted butter prevents sticking and adds rich flavor.
๐Ÿฐ The batter forms a cake-like topping with a slightly crispy crust and soft center, balancing textures perfectly.
