  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

– 6 golden delicious apples, peeled and chopped

– 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

– 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice

– 1 cup light brown sugar

– 3/4 cup old fashioned oats

– 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– Pinch of kosher salt

– 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, diced into small cubes

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and prepare an 8Γ—8 inch baking dish by buttering it or using non-stick spray.

2-Combine apples: in a mixing bowl, combine the chopped apples with granulated sugar, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and lemon juice stir it all up until the apples are nicely coated. Transfer this mixture to your prepared baking dish for an even bake.

3-Prepare topping: in another bowl, mix together the brown sugar, oats, flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, and diced butter use a pastry cutter, forks, or your hands to blend until you get pea-sized crumbs.

4-Apply topping and bake: Spread that crumbly topping evenly over the apples and give it a gentle pat to help it stick. Pop it in the oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, watching for that golden brown top and bubbly filling.

5-Finish and serve: Once it’s done, let it cool for a bit and serve it warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra joy.
