🍲 This recipe offers a rich mushroom gravy paired with tender hamburger steaks for a satisfying dish everyone will love.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 7 to 9 hamburger steaks 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 pounds ground beef

1 1/2 cups buttery or saltine crackers

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Cayenne pepper to taste (optional)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour for dusting the steaks

20 ounces (2 cans) of cream of mushroom soup for the gravy

1 1/2 cups milk for the gravy

Instructions

1-First, mix the ground beef, cracker crumbs, 1 cup milk, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper if you like it spicy, and add salt and pepper in a bowl. Shape the mixture into patties gently so they hold together well. Then, dust each patty with flour and cook them in a skillet with some oil until they’re golden but not fully done.

2-Next, place the patties in a 13Γ—9-inch baking dish. In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup with 1 1/2 cups milk and pour it over the patties. Cover the dish and bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for about 30 minutes, then uncover for the last 5 minutes to let it brown a bit.
